Cultural Sustainability

At First 1000 Days Australia, we believe in empowering families to thrive by employing an ecological framework that encompasses social, cultural, place-based, and family-based interventions. Our regional strategies are designed to provide comprehensive support, enabling families to become the best version of themselves. We place great emphasis on strengths-based approaches and strive to identify and address family aspirations.

Our mission is to bring about a transformation in attitudes and behaviors through community-led research, program design and implementation, and advocacy. Moreover, we aim to shape broader policy and program development, fostering a greater understanding of culture as a protective factor for family wellbeing.

By focusing our efforts on the aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, we seek to respectfully challenge policies and programs that view them as problems rather than solutions. We offer a range of educational and training courses, presentations, strategic initiatives, and implementation pathways to explore these ideas.

Every Australian child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.
