The Australian specific interpretation of the 1000 Days movement is being established to have effective supports for families of Indigenous children during critical periods of heightened risk from pre-conception to a child’s second birthday. It aims to provide a coordinated, comprehensive model that addresses the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and children using a multigenerational and dynamic expression of family.
This peer-reviewed paper was delivered at the Family & Relationship Services Australia 2016 National Conference, 'Measuring success in the relationship and services sector for the wellbeing of children, families and communities', held on 29 November to 1 December 2016 at the National Convention Centre, Canberra.
